Goodbye To All The Lovers

by Lucas Steele

Billy Stewart thumbnail
Billy Stewart Ironically, despite title & lyrics marking the 1st anniversary of the end of the show’s Broadway run, there will never be a goodbye from any fan of ‘Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet Of 1812.’ There will never be a goodbye from the audience to the performers, their future work eagerly anticipated by people who love the characters & the artists who became them. The musical (Dave is a genius!) will live forever in the hearts & souls of every person touched by the masterpiece & the wonderful people who made the show a reality!
Lucas Steele here marvelously croons this melancholy earbug, reminding of magical moments between artists & audiences, relationships gone but never forgotten, forever appreciated, music which never dies, performances rightfully, eternally coloring Broadway’s palette - DIVERSE, original, brilliant, joyous - & remaining part of the memory of all that is good about the process that uses music to bind hearts & connect souls.
Thank you for this beautiful offering!

about

A look back, a toast, a thank you.

This week (through Friday Sept 7) we'll be giving all proceeds to Opening Act, an amazing organization whose theater programs provide students attending New York City’s most under-served public schools the opportunity to gain confidence, pride, and the knowledge that they can succeed at anything in life; students from Opening Act performed with Great Comet on the Today Show back in 2017.

lyrics

Goodbye my Gypsy lovers
All my revels here are over
Well, goodbye, Matryosha
Kiss me one last time
Remember me to Steshka
There, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Wish me luck my Gypsy lovers
Now goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye

Goodbye to all the lovers
All my revels here are over
Say goodbye, my loves
And kiss me one last time
Remember me forever
'Til I die, I die, I die
Wish me luck my dear, dear lovers
Now goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Say goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Wish me luck my dear, dear lovers
Now goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...
